I create intricate shapes, patterns, and colors reflecting those of the natural world and the infinite variations of the human soul. My primary medium is watercolor with the enhancement of markers, colored pencil, ink, highlighter. Of late, I have discovered the digital media of fractal art. I see these new works as “Digital Watercolor” because I can achieve fluidity, transparency and multi-dimensional effects. This is sacred geometry - I invite you to meditate on it. Many fractal images start with a spiral shape so I elevated this simple shape onto its own throne.
Welcome to my world of Fractal Art. In a nutshell, fractals are images which are self-perpetuating. The overall pattern spawns its own shape ad infinitum. Fractals are found in nature (think leaf veins, branching tree limbs, a rose spiraling inward), as well as in the abstract domain. A limitless variety of designs, colors, and shapes are possible. The software I use is aptly called “Chaotica.” I start with randomly generated chaotic shapes and patterns, and then form them into a pleasing design, mimicking the perfection of the evolutionary processes within the natural world.
